President’s Message

It gives me an immense pleasure to communicate with you all through this website which is updated by WBBSE & CBSE sections. National High School, Kolkata is being managed by N.R. Iyer Memorial Education Society which has two campuses, one for WBB and the other for CBSE. This school began under the patronage of great visionaries viz. late N.R. Iyer, late Rao Bahadur, K. Balaram Iyer, late C.A. Sundaram, late C.V. Raman and late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Our School received WBBSE affiliation as National High School for Girls and National High School (Boys) in 1962 CBSE affiliation for National High School (Boys) from April 2016. With more than 3450 students and more than 200 teachers in the roll, the aim of the school is to impart quality education to its students so that they become a responsible citizen of the country. Apart from good infrastructure in the form of high interactive class rooms, Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Computer labs, we have a team of highly qualified and motivated teachers who are striving their best.

Our school gives focus in Sports and our students had done well in sports by winning many laurels and awards in various sports like Cricket, Rowing, Karate, Swimming, etc.

We strive to give the best possible environment to students to grow up. The school identifies and nurtures the talents of the pupils and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We endeavor to uphold the values upon which this institution was built and has grown and to maintain its glorious legacy for many more years to come.

One of the important objectives of the Society is to run the school so that education reach every section of the society irrespective of caste, creed or religion and background of the student.
